The perinatal bereavement it affects many families every day. Despite medical advances, there are still thousands of spontaneous abortions and many fetal deaths in Italy, and in the world there are an estimated three million stillbirths per year.

However, what is not considered a real mourning by society, is actually a theme delicate and painful, which so many mothers and so many fathers owe to bear almost in silence to avoid inadequate responses or lack of respect on the part of family members, medical staff and the social environment.

For parents, no matter how long they are, the loss of a child is a traumatic event, a real grief that touches their lives and must be resolved psychological help and support which should involve all family members and people close to them.

To raise awareness of this still little known and little accepted issue, the Ciaolapo Onlus founded by two doctors and a midwife, it has been promoting for many years support activities to families who have suffered perinatal bereavement and the events they may have know this topic is raise awareness of politics and institutions to do more for these people and to create specific laws for them.

There babyloss awareness day on the death of pregnant babies, It is a very important day worldwide, promoted by many countries in the world and in Europe, with many local events and initiatives.

There babyloss awareness must be collective, the whole of society must commit itself to support these families, both in moment of mourning than after, and also in subsequent pregnancies which are often lived in the shadow of mourning and do not bring the joy that they should instead bring.

The Ciaolapo Onlus instead promoted various events for the whole month of October, the awareness month, and over the years has presented bills to the Senate and Parliament a support of these families and how prevention of these events.

On the page facebook of the Onlus you can find the various initiatives, this year all virtual as a sign of responsibility towards the efforts made to contain the pandemic.
