July 30 is the World Friendship Day: a very important value to be transmitted to our children, also for the community
Since 2011 the United Nations Organization has established the World Friendship Day, which is celebrated on July 30th, recognizing the fundamental value of friendship also with a view to a relationship of sharing between peoples.
World Friendship Day: a value to pass on to children
Friendship is the first relationship we create with a person outside our family circle. That’s why from childhood friendship is fundamental both for our social relationships and for our development as human beings.

Psychologists define friendship as a “horizontal” relationship, as it occurs between peers. Therefore, the child’s curiosity should be encouraged at any age and promoted
For children, this means relating for the first time to another child who is not part of the family and, through comparison, to experience a new and different relationship with prodigious effects. The quarrel, for example, will teach the importance of negotiation and compromise, to then arrive at a reconciliation.
Here because the adult it must find a place in the friendship between children and young people. The rule of thumb applies “Educate” them to friendship, to the exploration of interpersonal relationships and to empathy for the other, but without intruding in the dynamics and relationship between children, even at the cost of some small quarrel or small sufferings, which will help him grow. In the adolescent phase, however, the adult must ensure that your child’s friendship relationships are “healthy” is pay attention to forms of abuse or suppression of one’s personality.

This important value was identified precisely by the UN as a symbol of cooperation also between peoples, capable of creating a dialogue and solidarity between communities and lasting harmony.
