The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) published today (1st) technical note with information on the impact of the variant of the new coronavirus identified in the United Kingdom.
The note recommends that the laboratories pay attention to the information in the instructions for use of existing products for the detection of covid-19 and adopt measures that favor the diagnosis, such as the use of products aimed at different viral targets.
Also according to the document, most of the molecular assays of the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) standardized in Brazil use more than one target, which would reduce the impact on diagnosis.
The note can be read in full on the agency’s website.
The agency also said that since April 2020 it has made available a panel for consultation of the queue of products for diagnosis in vitro for the detection of covid-19.
In this tool, it is possible to find information about the quantity of orders granted, rejected, under analysis, awaiting the certificate of good manufacturing practices (CBPF), as specific information about the products.
The consultation of the targets of the regularized products in this Anvisa is also available on the agency’s portal.
