Ingredients

• 1 Qt. plus 1 cup strawberries
• 3/4 Cup sugar
• 1/2 Cups water
• 1 1/2 Tablespoon cornstarch 
• 2 Tablespoon water
• Pinch of salt
• Red food coloring

Instructions

Step 1

• Wash berries thoroughly and drain. Crush 1 cup of berries. Heat 1/2 cup water and sugar until dissolved. Add crushed berries and food coloring to hot mixture.

Step 2

• Mix cornstarch and salt with 2 tablespoons water to make a paste. Add paste to hot mixture, stirring constantly. Cook slowly till clear and very thick

Step 3

• It takes about 10 minutes. Cool and then lightly stir in berries to coat each. Pour into a  baked pie shell.
