Ingredients

  • 1 Package yeast
  • 1 Cup warm water
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar, (optional)
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons oil
  • 3 to 3 1/2 Cups flour
  • 1 Large jar spaghetti sauce  Tip:  I use leftover homemade spaghetti sauce instead of the jar of spaghetti sauce.  I add more Italian spices to the sauce (garlic, basil, parsley, oregano, and thyme) to it to make it really spicy.  I sometimes add these spices along with rosemary to the dough. 

Divide dough and spread into pans, top with sauce and any of the following toppings:

  • pepperoni 
  • black olives
  • Canadian bacon 
  • Jalapeno peppers
  • sausage 
  • artichoke hearts
  • sliced onions 
  • pineapple
  • fresh mushrooms (sautéed) 
  • shrimp
  • green peppers 
  • fresh steamed Spinach (drained)
  • fresh sliced tomatoes 
  • broccoli
  • mozzarella cheese 
  • yellow summer squash
  • zucchini

Instructions

Instruction : Step 1

  • Dissolve yeast in water.  Stir in sugar, salt, oil and 2 cups flour.  Beat until smooth.  Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. 

Step 2

  • Turn dough onto floured surface.  Knead 5 minutes.  Place in greased bowl.  Cover and let rise 45 minutes

Step 3

  •  Dough is ready if indention remains when touched.  Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Grease two oblong pans, punch dough down.
