Cream butter and sugar, add eggs. Sift flour and spices together. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk.

Fold in preserves, pecan, and vanilla.
Step 3
Place in cake pan. Bake at 325’F. for 1 hour and 15 minute to 1 hour-30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or topping. Makes 20 servings. Can also be baked in two loaf pans.
