Ingredients

  • 12 oz. Egg noodles (medium width)
  • 1 Cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 Sticks butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 Cup heavy cream (room temperature)
  • 1/2 Cup hot water in which noodles were boiled
  • Salt and pepper to taste.  Garlic (if desired)

Instructions

  • Boil noodles in 4 quart saucepan in salted water until tender.  Do not overcook.  Strain, add 1/3 of cream, butter, water, and cheese to noodles, mix.  Add rest 1/3 at a time slowly.  Mix all in gently.  Toss noodles in hot bowl,  Heat butter and cream. 

Immediately Add Any of the Following:

  • chopped mushroom
  • green peas
  • cheese
  • small pieces of ham
  • broccoli
  • carrots
  • onions
  • asparagus
