Deep Dish Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 Package yeast
- 1 Cup warm water
- 1 Teaspoon sugar, (optional)
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 3 Tablespoons oil
- 3 to 3 1/2 Cups flour
- 1 Large jar spaghetti sauce Tip:  I use leftover homemade spaghetti sauce instead of the jar of spaghetti sauce. I add more Italian spices to the sauce (garlic, basil, parsley, oregano, and thyme) to it to make it really spicy. I sometimes add these spices along with rosemary to the dough.Â
Divide dough and spread into pans, top with sauce and any of the following toppings:
- pepperoniÂ
- black olives
- Canadian baconÂ
- Jalapeno peppers
- sausageÂ
- artichoke hearts
- sliced onionsÂ
- pineapple
- fresh mushrooms (sautéed)Â
- shrimp
- green peppersÂ
- fresh steamed Spinach (drained)
- fresh sliced tomatoesÂ
- broccoli
- mozzarella cheeseÂ
- yellow summer squash
- zucchini
Instructions
Instruction : Step 1
- Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, salt, oil and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.Â
Step 2
- Turn dough onto floured surface. Knead 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise 45 minutes
Step 3
-  Dough is ready if indention remains when touched. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease two oblong pans, punch dough down.Â
