Chocolate Chess Pie
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups sugar
- 5 Tablespoons Dutch process cocoa
- 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Cup evaporated milk
- 3 Eggs (room temperature)
- 1/3 Cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla
- 1 Partially baked 9 inch pie shell
Instructions
Step 1
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt in large bowl and mix will. Pressing out any lumps
Step 2
- Blend in milk, beat in eggs, one at a time. Add butter, vanilla and beat until smooth. Â
Step 3
- Bake until filling is puffed and set. (55 to 60 minutes) Let pie cool to room temperature before serving. Serves 8.Â
