Hungarian Goulash
Ingredients
- 2 Med. onions, sliced
- 2 Green peppers, sliced or chopped
- Butter
- 2 Lbs. hamburger
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder
- Salt & pepper
- 2 Cups uncooked macaroni
- 1 Can cream style corn
- 1 Can tomatoes
- 1 Cup catsup
- 1/2 Lb. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Step 1
- Sauté onions & peppers in butter. Remove from pan, drain. Brown meat seasoned with chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste in same skillet.
Step 2
- Cook macaroni and drain. Cover bottom of greased baking dish with part of meat and cover with macaroni.
Step 3
- Alternate with layers of peppers & onions, corn ,remaining meat, tomatoes, ketchup and bake 350’ for 45 minutes. Top with cheese and bake until cheese is brown. Yield 16 to 20 servings.
