Rich Pastry Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 2 Cups flour
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 3/4 Cup Chilled unsalted butter ( 1 1/2 Stick)
- 1 large egg yolk
- 4 to 5 Tablespoon cold water
Instructions
Step 1
- Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Cut butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in yolk and enough water so dough just comes together.
Step 2
- Divide in half. Gather each piece into a ball. Flatten to disc. Wrap each in plastic. Refrigerate 1 hour. Preheat oven to 425’ F.
Step 3
- Roll dough out onto a lightly dusted floured surface to a thickness of 1/4” inch. Fit into pie plate. Bake 12-15 minutes.
