Ingredients

- 4 Cups sifted flour
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1 1/3 Cup Crisco plus 1 Tablespoon
- 8 Tablespoons ice water
Instructions
Step 1
- Sift flour before measuring. Spoon lightly into measuring cup and level without shaking or packing down
Step 2
-  Add salt. With pastry blender cut flour and Crisco until uniform. Sprinkle with water a little at a time. Â
Step 3
- Work dough into a firm ball with your hands. Roll out into a round circle slightly larger than your pie pan. It works best to roll it between two sheets of wax paper. For single crust baked with filling, bake according to filling used.Â
Step 4
- For crust baked without filling prick bottom and sides with fork. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until brown as desired.
