Spaghetti Sauce and Spaghetti Meatballs
Ingredients
- 2 Lbs. Hamburger
- 1 Large onion
- 1 Bell pepper
- 3 Cloves garlic
- 1 Cup water
- 1/4 Cup snipped parsley
- 1/2 to 1 Teaspoon sweet basil
- 1/8 to 1/4 Teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 to 1/2 Teaspoon oregano
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1/2 Lb. mushrooms, sautéed
- 1/4 Cup ketchup
- 1 Large can tomatoes
- 1 Can tomato paste
- 2 Cans tomato sauce
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In Dutch oven combine meat, onion, pepper and garlic. Cook till meat is brown and onion is tender. Skim off fat. Add next 9 ingredients and simmer 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 3 hours or till sauce is thick. Stir occasionally remove bay leaf and serve over hot spaghetti. Top with freshly grated parmesan.
