Tidewater Peanut Pie
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 Cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1/3 Cup light corn syrup
- 1/3 Milk or evaporated milk
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 1 Semi baked pre made pie shell
Instructions
Step 1
- Pre-heat oven to 325’ F. Melt peanut butter and butter in a small heavy sauce pan over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove mixture from heat
Step 2
- Combine sugar, brown sugar, eggs flour, corn syrup, milk, vanilla and salt in a large bowl and mix well. Blend in peanut butter mixture. pour into pie shell.
Step 3
- Bake until filling is puffed about 1 hour 20 minutes. Filling will still be quite soft. Let pie cool to room temperature before serving.
