Ingredients

• 1 Package dates
• Add 1 Teaspoon soda
• 1 Cup boiling water
• 1 Tablespoon butter
• 1 Cup sugar
• 1 Teaspoon vanilla
• 1 Cup flour
• 1 Cup nuts
• 1/4 Teaspoon salt  (added by Mom)

Instructions

• Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased pan.  Bake 35 minutes in 350 degree oven.  Serve with whipped cream or brandy sauce. 
• Tip:  Serve with the brandy sauce, it is by far the best!  Serve warm.
